Vintage Gateleg Drop-Leaf Table — Wood & Black — Project Piece

Annihilate the landfill, one small-space dinner party at a time.

This vintage gateleg drop-leaf table brings real-wood warmth to Cambridge apartments that need dining flexibility: a natural-finish oval top over a black-painted base with six turned legs and classic stretcher rails, designed so both leaves swing up to create an almost-round tabletop or fold down to tuck neatly against a wall. It needs just a little love — one of the legs has come loose and needs a quick glue-up, an easy fix that any DIYer can handle in an afternoon. The top shows light, honest wear from use but is smooth and sturdy, and the painted base gives it that modern farmhouse / Scandinavian contrast that plays well with both vintage chairs and simple IKEA stands.

The D’Beetle Difference

• True Space-Saver, Real Dining Surface: With both leaves up it comfortably seats four, but with one or both leaves down it becomes a slim console or two-person breakfast table — ideal for Cambridge one-beds and studios where every square foot matters.

• Turned-Leg Gateleg Base: Multiple turned legs and side stretchers aren’t just decorative; they keep the top stable and prevent the wobble you get from cheaper, lighter modern drop-leaf tables.

• Warm Natural Top + Black Base: The two-tone look feels intentional and current, similar to what you’d see in modern farmhouse catalogs, but you’re getting it in solid wood rather than veneered MDF.
