FAQ
Got questions? We've got answers. Here's everything you need to know about buying secondhand furniture from D'Beetle.
General Questions
What is D'Beetle?
We're a secondhand furniture and vintage goods store on a mission to annihilate the landfill—one rescued piece at a time. Every item we sell is preloved, refurbished, or upcycled, giving quality furniture a second life instead of sending it to rot in a dump. We're based in Cambridge, MA. Pickups happen by appointment at our warehouse.
Where are you located?
We're currently in the process of finding a new retail space in the Cambridge/Boston area. In the meantime, warehouse inventory is available by appointment. Stay tuned—follow us on Instagram or join our email list for updates on our new location.
Do you deliver?
Yes! We offer delivery for a flat fee based on your location.
Buying & Pricing
Can I negotiate prices?
Nope. Our prices are firm. We've already done the legwork to price our pieces fairly based on condition, quality, and market value. What you see is what you get.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, Venmo and major credit/debit cards. Cash is preferred whenever possible to keep things simple.
Do you hold items?
Yes, once you've purchased. We'll hold your piece until your scheduled pickup (within one week of purchase). Items are available on a first-come, first-served basis—if you see something you want, grab it before someone else does.
Pickup & Delivery
How does pickup work?
We'll schedule a pickup window that works for you either from our warehouse in Middleton or our storefront in Cambridge. Pickups are by appointment only. Once you've bought your piece, we'll coordinate a time that fits your schedule.
What if I can't fit an item in my car?
No sweat. We offer delivery for a fee, or you can arrange your own moving service.
Do you offer assembly or setup services?
Not at this time. All items are sold as-is, and you're responsible for transport, assembly, and setup once you take possession.
Returns & Refunds
What's your return policy?
All sales are final. We sell preloved, secondhand furniture, and every piece is sold as-is. We do our best to accurately describe condition and flaws in our listings, but we don't accept returns or offer refunds. Make sure you're happy with your purchase before you commit.
What if my item arrives damaged?
If we deliver your item and it's damaged during transport, reach out to us within 24 hours and we'll work with you to make it right. However, if you pick up the item yourself, you're responsible for inspecting it before you leave and for any damage that happens during your transport.
Donations & Furniture Pickup
Do you accept furniture donations?
Absolutely! If you've got quality furniture you no longer need, we'll come pick it up for free (within our service area). Check out our Free Furniture Pickup page to learn more and schedule a pickup.
What kind of items do you accept?
We're looking for furniture and vintage goods in good, resellable condition. Think solid wood pieces, mid-century modern gems, unique vintage finds, and functional furniture that just needs a new home. We're not interested in particle board, broken items, or anything that's seen better days beyond repair.
Estate Cleanout & Pickup
Do you offer estate cleanout services?
Yes. D’Beetle offers full and partial estate cleanout services for homes, condos, and apartments. We focus on furniture and household goods, helping you clear spaces quickly while keeping as much as possible out of the landfill.
What areas do you serve for estate cleanouts?
We primarily serve the Greater Boston area, including Cambridge, Somerville, Boston, Medford, Arlington, Belmont, Watertown, and nearby towns. If you’re a bit outside that radius, reach out and we’ll let you know what’s possible.
How does the estate cleanout process work?
Start by telling us about the space and what needs to go—photos are helpful. We’ll review everything, give you a rough estimate, and schedule a walkthrough or pickup window. On the day of service, our team handles the heavy lifting, sorting, and removal so you don’t have to.
What kinds of items can you take during a cleanout?
We prioritize furniture, decor, and usable household items that can be resold, donated, or responsibly recycled. We typically cannot take hazardous materials, trash bags full of general waste, or items that are heavily damaged, moldy, or infested.
How do pricing and quotes work for estate cleanouts?
Pricing depends on the size of the space, access (stairs, elevators, parking), volume of items, and how much sorting is required. Share details and photos, and we’ll provide a clear estimate before you commit. Larger or more complex projects may require an on-site visit.
Can you work with families, realtors, or estate attorneys?
Yes. We regularly coordinate with families handling an estate, as well as realtors and estate professionals who need a property cleared on a timeline. We can schedule around listing dates, open houses, or closing dates to keep your sale on track.
How do I get started with an estate cleanout?
Reach out through our Estate Cleanout Services page with a brief description of the property, location, timeline, and a few photos if you have them. We’ll follow up with next steps, an estimate, and available dates so you can get the cleanout off your plate.
