Hellman-Chang Z-Side Table #4408 in Walnut — Brooklyn Studio Craft

Annihilate the landfill, rescue a signed Brooklyn original from an uncertain fate

This is the real deal: a Hellman-Chang Z-Side Table, numbered #4408, signed by the makers, and built in their Brooklyn workshop from solid walnut. The cantilevered form is pure contemporary studio furniture — geometry that defies gravity while your coffee sits perfectly stable. The dark-stained walnut shows surface scratches and light wear across the top consistent with honest use. Structurally sound, just needs some love (or a strategically placed book).

The D'Beetle Difference

• Signed and Numbered Brooklyn Craft: Metal maker's plaque reads 'Hellman-Chang, Made in Brooklyn, No. 4408' with original signature. This isn't mass production — it's traceable studio furniture.

• Solid Walnut Construction: Built from solid American walnut with a dark espresso finish. The Z-form requires precise joinery to maintain structural integrity under load.

• Architectural Cantilever Design: Appears approximately 18" square top surface with matching base. The angled support creates visual tension while sliding neatly beside a sofa or bed.
