Panasonic RE-6280 AM/FM Tabletop Radio Walnut Cabinet 1970s

Annihilate the landfill, bring back the warm glow of analog dial tuning

Before algorithms decided what you'd hear next, there was this: a solid Panasonic AM/FM radio in a proper walnut cabinet that sat on your nightstand and just worked. This RE-6280 has the classic vertical slide-rule tuning dial with that satisfying green indicator strip, selector for FM/FM-AFC/AM, tone control, and volume. The wood case shows honest age—some surface wear and minor scratches—while the brushed metal faceplate has developed character patina. Knobs all present and accounted for.

The D'Beetle Difference

• Real Wood, Not Veneer Pretense: Solid walnut cabinet with mitered corners, approximately 14"W x 7"H x 5"D. The kind of heft that says 'furniture' not 'appliance.'

• Analog Controls That Satisfy: Four chrome knobs for tuning, selector, tone, and volume. Tactile feedback your phone will never provide. Red needle indicator still moves smoothly.

• Full-Range Speaker Grille: Original black mesh speaker cloth intact behind chrome trim bezel. These were built for actual sound quality, not just notification chimes.
