Vintage Etched Glass Candlesticks Pair - Colonial Scene Figural Design c.1940s
Annihilate the landfill, resurrect the romance of acid-etched American glass
A charming matched pair of Depression-era glass candlesticks featuring delicate acid-etched pastoral scenes — ladies in bonnets, gentlemen, carriages, and leafy trees circling each wide base. The faceted hexagonal stems catch light beautifully, and the stepped bobeches add architectural interest. These have lived a life: expect old wax residue in the cups and some surface wear on the etched bases consistent with 80+ years of dinner parties. Still entirely functional and genuinely lovely.
The D'Beetle Difference
• Acid-Etched Pastoral Imagery: Colonial revival scenes wrap each 4-inch diameter base — figures, horse-drawn carriages, trees. The frosted silhouettes against clear glass remain crisp and readable.
• Faceted Hexagonal Stems: Six-sided stems with stepped rings add visual weight and refract candlelight. Each piece stands approximately 3.5 inches tall with standard taper candle cups.
• True Matched Pair: Same mold, same era, same estate. Finding Depression glass pairs intact is increasingly rare — someone kept these together for decades.
