This is the real deal from Sorrento, Italy — not a tourist-shop knockoff. Hand-inlaid marquetry featuring a warm autumn floral motif in multiple wood veneers, framed in a rich mahogany-stained border. The mechanical music box plays 'Torna A Surriento' (Return to Sorrento), that Neapolitan classic that's been making people weep since 1902. Wind-up mechanism on bottom, turned wooden feet. Clean interior, no musty estate smell. A lovely little jewelry or trinket box with genuine soul.
